Racism at its best or worst, that depending on what side of the fence you’re on and believe me, there is no middle ground. Racism is running rampant through these United States, I see it everyday.
What will it take for people to evolve to a point where they don’t base their hatred on the color of another person’s skin? At what point do we evolve as a society where real active solutions are being sought after to end this insanity. I, myself am appalled at the prejudice that is brought upon the people of color in this country and other countries around the world. Racism is one of the many topics I have set aside to write about, but as you would have it the opportunity arose today when I read an article in the Chicago Tribune about a business in the town of Paris, Texas called Turner Industries Group. I did some research on the town itself and found that it is a beautiful, peaceful place to live for all races. Regardless there are the few that have made the whole town look bad, which is not fair to the majority of the people who are good, caring individuals. It seems that in the work place some of the “white folk” have taken it upon themselves to let the “black folk” know how racist and small minded they are. To intimidate the people of color there have been displays of racist graffiti, a hangmen’s noose and the confederate flag in various locations in the Turner Industries plant. Didn’t these Texans get the memo that the war ended 144 years ago or are they just too ignorant to accept the fact that all men are truly created equal? Oh yeah, in case anyone’s forgotten the Union Army defeated the Confederate Army when Lee surrendered to Grant on April 9th 1865. I feel that the confederate flag should be outlawed and if displayed in any matter or form should be considered a hate crime, but that’s just the opinion of this middle class, middle aged white folk. I will continue this discussion in my next post, but in the mean time does anyone have a point of view of there own?
