First I would like to wish my son Jason a Happy 19th Birthday and let him know that I love him and that he is one of my very few genuine “Happy Thoughts”. The phrase Happy Thoughts reminds me of the movie “Hook”, with Dustin Hoffman, Robin Williams, Julia Roberts and a very talented cast of other actors.
In the movie Robin Williams plays the part of Peter Banning a corporate executive who has become so wrapped up in life that he has neglected his family and has forgotten the childhood memories of Neverland and his escapades as Peter Pan. Well after Peter Bannings reluctant trip back to Neverland he is told by Tinker Bell, played by Julia Roberts, that he needs to recall a Happy Thought in order to learn to fly again so that he might have a chance at battling Captain Hook, played wonderfully by Dustin Hoffman. The thought of “Happy Thoughts” always brings me to my wife and my children, they are my true “Happy Thoughts”. When things get tough in life as they do for a lot of us, some more than others, it is a wonderful thing to have a Happy Thought or even a few to help us get through. The thoughts can be of people in your life, it could be of a specific moment in your life or a place you experienced tranquility and peace of mind, it can be anything the makes you happy. What is your Happy Thought, we await your point of view?
