New Year’s Day – 2010

It’s the start of another new year and I must say, the stroke of midnight was as anticlimactic as it possibly could have of been.  This past year for my wife and myself has been somewhat of what most would say a nightmare, the hope of a better year lies before us, the hope of a better life is my dream or dare I say my goal.  I have many things I would like to accomplish before I leave this mortal existence, but the clock is ticking ever so fast and it seems like there is just not enough time left to do it all.  I will however keep forging forward no matter what obstacles I may encounter, and I will do all of this with my wife, my best friend at my side.  I will love, protect, and bring her and myself happiness at any cost.  My New Year’s resolution, actually my life’s resolution is to stop waiting for my ship to come in, I must go out and meet it.  I know it’s going to take a lot of work and a lot of focus on my part, but I must make a real effort to fulfill the dreams my wife and I share.  The only thing holding me back is me, like the saying goes, “You create your own reality.”  I need to remember that every second of every day in order to move forward, if not, then I get sidetracked for hours, days even years before I realize that I’ve been wasting my time once again.  The problem is that I have so many projects in my repertoire that I need to take a step back, prioritize them and focus on them one at a time in order to move forward.

Anyway it’s New Year’s Day, which does not mean much because it’s just the day after yesterday, but I guess it as good a starting point or reference as any.  So there you go, like all the other millions of people caught up in life on life’s terms, I have once again decided to try and shed the past and look towards the future by living in the moment, one day at a time, maybe even one second at a time.

From all of us at The Motley View we wish you a “Happy New Year”, or to those of you who are really looking to change the way they live, “Happy New Life.”

If you have any thoughts, we would like to hear from you.
